It was a good Friday morning. Goals met. April c+r It was a good Friday morning. Goals met. April c+r is the real deal. Found a couple packs of chunky stripers in the Severn/Whitehall area, cruising in 4–6’. Got a few fish to eat. All on the SP minnow pictured. A bit foggy through morning and overcast, which was great. Calm water until 10:30am. Fish seemed to bite about an hour into the tide turning. Bite lasted maybe an hour tops. Give it a shot when the conditions align—the opportunity is out there…

Yellow perch have spawned in Severn Run…these egg Yellow perch have spawned in Severn Run…these egg masses are likely a week-plus old. Saw them when scouting the run last week. Best educated guess is the perch made their run during the first warmup earlier this month. Many more signs of spring up there. Will post more…

HNY! Hiked into the headwaters today to find carp. HNY! Hiked into the headwaters today to find carp. Found a good number of them—all sizes, with some bigs in the mix. I tried method feeding and got them to nose the bait but couldn’t entice a really good take/hookset. Still learning this species and different techniques. Also saw the remnants of carp the eagles and hawks have been picking off. This is a fun winter pursuit!
