National Outdoor Show & Muskrat Festival

This beloved festival harks back to Eastern Shore traditions associated with muskrat trapping, hunting, and preparing, as well as crabbing, fishing, oystering, and more! Held February 23rd and 24th, the festival will feature a number of pageants, outdoors and cooking demonstrations, and the hallmark muskrat skinning competitions. Click here for full details.

Walk for the Woods

Walk for the Woods is Scenic Rivers Land Trust's signature community event celebrating the joy of the outdoors and our local, protected woods. This beloved spring event is scheduled for Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Bacon Ridge Natural Area in Crownsville (rain date: 4/28). Scenic Rivers will again partner with Anne Arundel County’s Department of Recreation and Parks to offer a wonderful opportunity to hike and explore this beautiful wilderness just minutes from downtown Annapolis. The day features guided hikes, including bird watching, amphibian searches and naturalist hikes, and educational programs. Attendees are also invited to explore the Bacon Ridge Natural Area’s 1000+ acres of woodlands, wetlands, streams, and meadows on their own. It is always a beautiful, relaxing day in our local woods! North Beach VFD’s 2nd Annual Fishing & Outdoor Expo and Flea Market

Hosted by the North Beach Volunteer Fire Department at 8536 Bayside Road, North Beach, Maryland. The expo will feature fishing, crabbing, and boating vendors, charter captains, marine and wildlife artists, custom services, and much more. $5 entry for adults; children under 12 are free.
