Location: Anne Arundel Community College, Health and Life Sciences Building Room 100

Topic: Blue Mind: How Water Supports Mental Health and Well-Being

Speaker: Jamie Testa, Scientist with UMCES

Presentation Summary: Why do we so often feel calmer, clearer, and more connected near water? Drawing on Blue Mind Theory, neuroscience, and nature-informed therapy, this engaging presentation explores how nature, especially oceans, rivers, lakes, and even everyday encounters with water, can reduce stress, restore attention, regulate the nervous system, and deepen well-being.

Participants will leave with practical, accessible ways to bring water’s healing qualities into their personal lives and professional work.Speaker Bio: Dr. Heidi Schreiber-Pan is a psychologist, author, and founder of the Center for Nature-Informed Therapy.
